Photos and Instructions to Order Hoofwings
Before you begin, please know we appreciate what goes into purchasing what we believe are the best boots for your horse. Thank you!
What You'll Need & Instructions
Place the hoof on a piece of paper and trace around it carefully. The outline must be accurate — it is used to determine which Hoofwing base will provide the best fit. Outlines can be scanned and emailed or mailed. A photo showing the width and length measurememts of the bottom of the hooves is, in most cases acceptable. Tip: When your horse's hoof is on the paper, have a helper hold up the opposite leg.
Measure the widest point of the hoof (width) and the longest point from toe to heel (length). Record both measurements in inches. Photos of measurements may be sent via email or text.
Measure from the widest point of the hoof up the side of the hoof wall to determine the wing height needed. Also measure the side of the hoof. These measurements ensure the wing wraps correctly and stays secure.
Measure the height and length of the heel bulbs. These measurements are used to custom-fit the back of the boot so it holds firmly without rubbing or slipping.
